What is Metro Suburban RLC
The Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Community is a peer run organization; promoting trauma informed peer support, advocacy, education and training opportunities for individuals who have lived experience with a mental health condition. As a community we take a proactive approach toward fighting stigma and developing a culture which supports recovery, resiliency and self-empowerment.
The Metro Suburban RLC offers peer support and peer-run activities. In our community people find friendship, share recovery experiences, recognize and utilize talents and skills, and learn new skills. The Metro Suburban RLC is part of a statewide network of six RLC's. Our community includes the 60 towns and cities surrounding Boston - from Woburn to Framingham to Norwell. Some activities take place in our Quincy and Framingham Resource Centers, with additonal support meetings and activities throughout the Metro Suburban DMH area. No membership fees or referrals are necessary; anyone who considers themselves a peer is welcome!
