- Discover Recovery: Group discussion of topics related to developing and maintaining Recovery. Mondays - Fridays at 11 am
- Knitting: Learn to knit or bring in a project of your own to work on (knit, crochet, needle work, etc) while visiting with fellow knitters - limited amount of yarn and needles available as well as assistance getting started in knitting! Tuesdays at 11 am
- Poetry Slam: Time to bring in and read your favorite poem or poetry you have written! Alternating Tuesdays at 11 am
- Music and Song: Including singing, listening to music, and playing different instruments - activities vary weekly! Alternating Tuesdays at 11 am
- Goal Setting: Strategies for developing and achieving personal and professional goals. Alternating Wednesdays at 11 am
- De-stressing: Practical and “on the go” ways to deal with and minimize the impact of stress. Alternating Wednesdays at 11 am
- Personal Development Achievement Success: Ongoing personal and professional development - skills for both personal life and work! Alternating Thursdays at 11 am
- Recovering Work: Strategies for returning to work and maintaining employment as part of ongoing recovery. Alternating Thursdays at 11 am
- Peer Support Meetings: Explore and develop your own personal recovery in a sharing and caring group of individuals who have all experienced mental or emotional illness, trauma, and/or extreme emotional states. Meeting facilitators also have lived experience. Wednesdays at 7pm, Thursdays at 1 pm, and Saturdays at 10 am
- Guided Meditation: The focus of this weekly meeting is practicing relaxation techniques for reducing stress and improving concentration, and enhancing peace of mind. The breathing techniques we will be using include body scanning, counting your breath, and imagery. We will also be using music to relax and promote “peace of mind.” All of these techniques will be done sitting! No special clothing, equipment, and/or experience needed. Mondays at 1 pm
- Positive Recovery: This meeting utilizes a mindfullness and strenghts-based approach to teach participants to use creative coping skills and personal strenghts in recovery. Tuesdays at 12:30 pm
- Journal Writing for Wellness: In this meeting you will find and develop your own creative voice; experiment with writing and learn to release strong emotions; keep a record of how your life unfolds, and clarify personal goals. Tuesdays at 2 pm
- Personal Advocacy with Dan: 1:1 peer support, advocacy, information, resources, and/or referrals around specific issues (for example housing, benefits, medical care). Wednesdays at 12 pm, by appointment
- Open Computers: Internet access, online courses and free instruction. Mondays - Fridays at 12 pm
- Creating and Using an Email Account: You do not need to know much about using a computer in order to take advantage of email services. Any email account can be used to read and send email messages from any computer once you have an “email address”. Places you can access your email account from include any library branch and the RLC office during open computer hours. 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 12 pm (Limited to 3 people per session - call or come in to sign up)
- Edit U: An online learning website with nearly 8,000 hours of corporate-quality, tuition-free, online training courses in a variety of career related areas. In order to take advantage of this learning opportunity you MUST participate in a one hour orientation AND register for a user account at the RLC office. 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 12 pm (Limited to 3 people per session - call or come in to sign up)
- Computer Training: Would you like to improve your computer skills? Whether you consider yourself a beginner, intermediate or expert level user the MSRLC invites you to participate in our FREE computer training! Monday - Fridays at 10 am (there is a wait list for this 6-week training - call or come in to place your name on the list)
- Exercise at the YMCA: Feeling stressed out? Work it out at the South Shore YMCA for physical and emotional well being. Register to take advantage of our group membership and enjoy the benefits FREE for one month. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am (there is a wait list for going to the YMCA - call or come in to place your name on the list)
- Volunteer Collaboration Day: Do you believe in the value of Peer Support? Do you enjoy being part of the Metro Suburban Recovery Learning Community? Join us for Volunteer Collaboration Day. Support your community by giving back; meet new people; reconnect with friends; enjoy coffee and conversation! Fridays, all day
- Movie Night: Get together with friends, watch a movie and enjoy the company of your peers. Fridays at 2 pm
